HUB's innovative 2020 Bin takes its place on Sydney Metro

Do your remember the days of 'City Rail' (RIP 2013) and the fear of a terrorist attacks 2010's? Well look how far we have come Sydney!

Hub's 20/20 Bin design is a result of collaboration between University of Technology Sydney, HUB Australasia Pty Ltd, Transport for NSW and NSW Police Force in 2011. The bin is intended to deter would be terrorists from using it as a hiding place for IED’s (Improvised Explosive Devices) and to allow bomb disposal teams safe access and assessment of the bins content should it be suspected that an IED has been placed in the bin. In the worst-case scenario where an IED explodes inside the bin, the bin is designed to allow the release of expanding gases and therefore minimise the resulting damage. 

Not only does it continue to keep our communities safe, it's an award winning sexy design, fitting right in with the gorgeous new Sydney Metro.
